Frans Faber Tribal Arts has been active as dealer in ethnographic objects since the 1980s. His collection includes tribal artifacts such as rare textiles (ikats, batiks), barkclothes, basketries, beadworks, clubs, masks, sculptures, dishes, shields and traditional weapons. The fine antique art pieces are originated from Southeast Asia (including Indonesia and the Phillippines), Oceania (including Papua New Guinea), Africa and the Americas. In addition Frans Faber Tribal Arts has been among the few art traders worldwide specialized in tribal objects from Surinam.
