During that time he has helped build many important collections In the U.S. and Europe, sold to major institutions, and done Consulting and appraisals. He has participated in the major Shows in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Santa Fe, and At the Denver Art Museum, and the Phoenix Art Museum.

Throughout his career, Leonard was known for his personal collection of world musical instruments, many of which are now in the collection of The Musical Instrumen Museum in Phoenix, Arizona.
